I occasionally visit Cologne Central Station for work and it’s one of my favorite places, with its impressive arched roof called the “Train Shed.” The Train Shed at Cologne Central Station was built in the 19th century, and it is a large structure measuring approximately 200 meters long and 40 meters wide, with beautiful steel arches spanning the top. Natural light floods in from skylights in the roof, creating a bright and airy atmosphere throughout the station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the beautiful arched ceiling and skylights evoke a traditional and historic design, the platform signs and shops are unified with a modern and minimalistic design, creating an interesting contrast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vast platform is very bright, open, and comfortable due to the glass skylights and the absence of supporting columns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, this place evokes a distinctly European ambiance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
